Going Beyond Suffering

14 June 2006

Greetings all,

Many of us have been facing a difficult phase of late. Where we've either encountered loss of some kind, or moments of confusion and helplessness. Not to mention sheer bewilderment at life's strange twists and turns. Over the past few weeks, I've encountered a number of people who've been trying to make sense out of this madness and have expressed a strong desire to either go back to the good old days of inoccence and simplicity or just yearned for an escape from the chaos and confusion of today's world.

Having experieced tremendous difficulties as well these past few weeks, I decided to just withdraw and heal, meditate and seek answers by way of the cards and insights. I cant say they're the perfect solution to all our woes, but somewhere the messages do contain a ring of truth, and have brought me strength when I needed it the most. Allow me to share a brief summary of insights, which I pray will bring some element of peace to many of you.

"The times are changing. And the old ways of thinking have no place in the world. In chaos and turmoil, it becomes harder to stay positive and unaffected by negative events taking place around us, but it is imperative to retain hope. And realise that all madness, all negativity is only temporary. If we crumble, there will be no one to lend us a hand, as everyone else would be crumbling too. The point is to get up, no matter how painful and difficult and get back to whatever work we have to do. It is important to accept that suffering is part of the journey, the more we resist it, the harder it becomes."

To all those who know what these past few weeks have been like, allow me to quote Kahlil Gibran ""out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls" May you find strength, peace and courage in the days ahead.
