10 Proven Stressbusting Tips.

Greetings All,

It's so nice to back in front of my comp and my cards after a month of fulltime mommy hood. Much as I love bringing up my almost 2 year old son, I do love reading the energies and cards of all those who come my way, studying about alternative therapies and writing. And I'm thankful that I can balance both again.

Motherhood as all the parents who read this, is also about learning to deal with stressful moments, especially when your infant turns into a demanding, screaming, toddler who wants his way and struggles to assert himself. To help cope with the battle of the wills, I came across these wonderful tips on Stress Busting, which I'd love to share with you. Very helpful on days when the bosses get too much, or the kids get on your nerves, or your partner is moody, hope these proven stressbusters help you as much as they helped me.

Here goes :)

  1. Dont rely on your memory. Make lists of what you have to do and the appointments you have to keep, otherwise in moments of stress, you're likely to forget and get extra annoyed.
  2. Do nothing you have to lie about later.
  3. Plan ahead and do preventative maintenance of cars and appliances.
  4. Realise you cant be perfect 100% all the time. And remember everybody is doing the best they can.
  5. Switch off your phone. Want to take a long bath, meditate, sleep or read without interruption? Drum up the courage to temporarily disconnect. (The possibility of there being a terrible emergency in the next hour or so is almost nil.)  
  6. Make friends with non worriers. They'll help you relax and show just how stress free their Life is.
  7. Do something kind for a stranger, or do a favour for someone. Giving without expectation can be very liberating.
  8. Stop negative self-talk: “I’m too fat, too old, etc...” Replace negative thoughts with a positive thought "I'm good at something, or my new haircut is flattering"
  9. Allow time every day for privacy, quiet and thinking.
  10. Do unpleasant tasks early and enjoy the rest of the day.
