Greetings,
Till recently I thought change was unsettling, stressful and definetely avoidable. And the more I continued to resist it, clinging to my old habits and ways the tougher it would get. It finally reached a point where I simply had to throw my hands up in the air and surrender to another powerful teacher of life. Change. A subject none of us can change, elect or opt out of in a hurry.
Change is like a teacher, who's constantly drumming the lesson into our heads whether we pay attention or not. There's no running away from it. And there's definetely no pretending that it's not happening. Changes will keep taking place for me, you, everyone, whether we want it or not. People are going to change - sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Relationships will go through their meandering course in time, revealing subtle shades of differences along the way. Work environments may change. Homes are shifted. Even the weather changes in a minute without warning. There are no guarantees. Scary at one level but quite exciting at another, depending on how we view it.
The tricks to coping with change are many. First, is a willingness to accept it. Remember resistance only makes it worse. Change battles back when we fight it, slapping us with some polite and not so polite shocks mercilessly along the way. Next comes an open trusting mind. Waking up to the feeling that whatever is going to happen will be for the highest good and the highest good alone. Even if it means bearing with that queasy feeling in our stomach or the moments of stress when we readjust to something new. Bear the discomfort, eventually it does ease off. When it gets too much to handle, ask for help. Or better still simple take time out to ground yourself. Reconnect with things people and places that are familiar, not only does it soothe it has a tremendous strengthening effect on our souls when we are in the midst of some major life changes.
And finally I have learnt that sometimes just grinning and bearing it does help even if it seems impossible at first, there are hidden blessings in every upheaval, crisis or change taking place. Nothing lasts remember, and some day the changes you find uncomfortable are going to become familiar.
I've discovered the Tarot is an excellent guide for coping with changes and if any of you are in the midst of some changes be it at your workplace or in your personal life, you may like to see what the cards have to say.
Finding Inner Peace with the Full Moon in Virgo 20-21 February 2008.
Late late tonight a lunar eclipse will take place making this full moon in Virgo quite special for people across the world. In the Orient people will be celebrating Chap Goh Mei, the 15th night of the Chinese New Year when fair maidens literally go out looking for their knights. Elsewhere this moon is indicative of inner peace and finding that place of harmony within. Take time out to say a little prayer for yourself. Wear pearls to honour the moon. And don’t forget to leave your crystals out in the moonlight for some extra energising.
