When it Comes to Love, I'm a Trainee
- Excerpts from my Meditation Journal Part Deux

This is to inform you that I continue to stumble along the path of Learning About Love. Part 1 of my journey revealed to me that Love is compelling and mysterious. And somewhere it is about acceptance of what is, right now, with whoever it is who is making me meditate.

Part 2 is showing me that my first teachers are my loved ones. It could be my son demonstrating the challenges of the terrible twos, or my mother who's so reluctant to rest at her age. Both defiant human beings I love fiercely, they are proving to be my teachers well into the second part of the Love Chronicles - insights received after meditation and chanting a simple sweet mantra for Love "Aham Prehma" which you can read more about in Thomas Ashley Farraund's "Healing Mantras'. I've discovered this chant to be simple and so effective anytime, anywhere:)

Excerpts from My Meditation Journal

1. Unconditional Love is Hard to Learn but we Learn it anyway. When my 2 year old son screams in the market place and refuses to walk or be carried in the middle of a tantrum, I will still pick him up and carry him kicking and fighting to the car. When a friends son slams the door on her face when she requests him to study for his Board examinations, she doesnt stop reminding him. When a clients teenage daughter burns her books in the bathroom, they still run to hold her tight at night when she cries. . Parental love can drive us to the limits of endurance, physical exhaustion in the case of parents like me, and mental stress as can be suffered only by the parent of a teenaged child in modern times. Love carries on beyond the tears and the tantrum. We still love our children fiercely and we will always weep when we know they are hurting somewhere.

2. Love is about knowing when to hold a hand and when to let go.

3. Love can hurt and heal in a minute. Smiles, hugs and kisses work like magic after a disagreement!

4. Love really knows no borders or distance. I can love you from here the very same way I would love you if you were right here in front of me.. And everytime I do that I feel blessed. Think of someone you love dearly right now who's far away and be grateful for their uplifting presence in your Life right here, right now.

I wish I could write more and more on Love but once again I am prevented from writing more because I dont know more. I really dont. And I dont mind in the least:)

Love & Laughter,

-Mita Bhan
